Save Penya, Make Penya V1

I thought it was time for me to start work on my own guide on how to save penya & earn penya. This page is my first version.

Here we go!

1. +3 Is enough for everything but your final set.

Spro's are expensive enough, you don't want to waste them on anything. They are for your final set and final set only. For most people this will be your L105 greens & unique weapon.

2. Don't drop anything, sell everything.

There are people who hang around the mail boxes with their AFK shop and a pet out, I've gotten some cool free items this way. If you want to make penya, don't give the items to these people, set up your own shop and sell them at a fair price.

3. Sell at fair prices.

Take the time to learn what things are worth on your server and when you sell them, charge the going rate. Don't undercut others but don't price gouge either.

4. Do all of the quests.

All of the quests over level 15 give a nice Penya bonus and 20% free exp, 10% for master quests. This is always quite rewarding when you compare this bonus with how long it takes you to earn the same exp.

5. Keep training after getting your quest items.

Once you have gotten the number of quest items you need for your current quest just keep going. You can sell these quest items to rich lazy players and also keep a few aside for your master level quests. No need to grind against the same mob twice.

6. Don't get power levelled.

As you train your way up the levels you will get drops and penya as you go, this will enable you to keep buying the next level of weapons and armour as you go. There is nothing worse than someone going from 1-60 in a day because friends power levelled them and then they have no money to buy any L60+ armour or weapons.

7. Hire a tank

If you want to go up levels faster, hire a tank so you can do some AOE. There are many higher level players who will tank for free or an hourly charge. They will gather the mobs for you and you can just pound away at them in relative safety. Plus you can keep all of the drops from the mobs you kill, doing this will usually make a small profit for you compared to the price of the tank.

8. Tank for others

Once you can take 20-30 mobs attacking you without any serious damage, hire yourself out as a tank for a lower level player. Charge a modest fee for your time and always take payment in advance.

9. Invillis Black Otem

You can really earn some good penya from level 55-64 with the Invillis Black Otem. It will get you a giant boost of penya by the sunstones & moonstones they drop along with generous amounts of Grrr Bandage.

As this area is free to get to, it can become quite crowded some times. Play nicely and share.

10. Azria

Azria is the premium area for L65+ players (well the mobs start at L72). They are non agressive, so they are safe for full INT Ringmasters and they drop penya & items at a much higher rate. Their quest items have a very low resale value as they are not useful for any quest, but they can be ground up to sell as pet feed.

11. Pets

I think pets are a giant black hole for penya. People spend money buying eggs, buying feed, running their PC all day with something heavy on the keyboard to feed the pet. etc etc

Then after all of that effort, get one disconnect or die once and your pet is probably dead. I think you are better off just selling feed to richer players and getting ahead that way.

12. Be careful in trading and shopping

Always put your mouse over the item in the shop window or trade window that you want to buy and read the details carefully. There are things that aren't as good as they first appear and people who want to scam you.

For example, I saw a nice C class dragon with L1&L3 +10 Int for 30 Mil. I bought it. Then I checked further, duh, and found that it had zero lives. A learning experience.

13. Trade across server

There are always people wanting to move to and from your server. Often they will trade penya from their server for your server and will pay a generous rate to do so.

For example, there was a nice lady moving from Glaphan to another server and she was paying 20M/100 gpot. With that money I was able to buy a whole bunch of Azria tickets at a rate of about 12.5/100.

With cross server trades, it's easy to get scammed as it isn't a straight forward transaction. There are trusted members who will help you avoid getting screwed, check out the forums Cross Server Trade Organisation.

Ok, that's enough for now. Enjoy!
